I headed down to Porthcawl on the last weekend of September for the annual Elvis Festival which has been running for 22 years and is now the largest Elvis Festival in the world.
A 1968 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. Leica Q3 Monochrom @ f/8
I was going to head down with the Fujifilm, but the Q3 is just magical to shoot with. For street I really can’t see anything nicer to use. I’ve shot street and events with Fujifilm and while they are great cameras there’s something about this camera. It’s almost as nice as the car!
Elvis singing in the background however the photo is more about the couple sitting down. Leica Q3 Monochrom @ f/8
I saw the couple sitting there from a different angle but I just couldn’t get a good photo of them. Even cropping in like above it just didn’t quite work. I spent much of the day zone focusing which is a new technique for me, at the moment I can’t say it’s my favourite method but most of the photos were in focus at the end of the day.
I think this photo works in b&w, maybe it’s the pattern on the skirt and dress. Leica Q3 Monochrom @ f/2.2
